Tea in the European Market (Export Guide)

The share of certified tea that complies with food safety and environmental protection requirements is rapidly growing on the world market.

According to the 2012 report by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), 12% of globally produced tea was certified. In 2015, experts estimated this share to be 17%, with prospects for further growth. For tea, certifications for compliance with Fair Trade and organic production standards are mostly relevant in niche and export markets.

Soon, tea certification will become a mandatory condition for entering the European market.
